New Page: Words Matter: Verbal Abuse of Children

We’re pleased to launch a new page on our website dedicated to raising awareness of childhood verbal abuse and signposting through to the Words Matter campaign.

Research shows that two in five children (41%) experience harmful verbal abuse from adults, often through everyday language that can go unnoticed yet have long‑lasting and damaging effects on their wellbeing and development.

The Words Matter initiative emphasises how the tone and quality of adult–child communication powerfully shape a child’s sense of self and long‑term outcomes.
