Objectives:
- To understand emotional, psychological and developmental consequences for children at different life stages.
- To explore how stability, safety and emotional support are essential for healthy cognitive and emotional development in babies and infants.
- To gain a deeper understanding of how early exposure to domestic abuse/trauma can shape a child’s experiences, relationships, and wellbeing into adulthood.
- To recognise the strategies children may adopt to survive in abusive environments, including protective behaviours, emotional suppression or taking on caregiving roles.
